WOMEN’s EMPOWERMENT
THE KEY TO A BETTER FUTURE IS EDUCATED WOMEN
After years of serving the people of Guatemala, it has become clear that female empowerment lies at the center of progress for its people.
In Guatemala, even though women represent 51.2% of the total 17+ million people living there, women command less than 15% of elected offices.* It’s also one of the most dangerous countries in the world for women, with high rates of interfamilial violence and 88% of reported crimes against women going unpunished.*
It’s time to educate and support women so they can overcome any challenge they may face and achieve a better future.

EDUCATION FOR GIRLS
Women in Guatemala don't often continue their education past the 6th grade. Empowering these girls means convincing families of the value of education.
EDUCATION FOR WOMEN
Giving adults entry into the classroom gives them a chance to start the education they never received or pick up where they left off.
VOCATIONAL TRAINING FOR ADULTS
IEP plans to build a new classroom building at Escuela El Molino that will open up to the community after the school day has ended. It will offer mothers and other community members educational resources, as well as vocational training like carpentry and sewing.
