STOVE TEAMS

IEP's stove teams improve the lives of the families in Chimaltenango, Guatemala by installing wood-saving, safe cooking stoves and water filters. The stoves eliminate the problem of smoke in the home, use more than 60% less wood and greatly reduce the risk of burns in adults and children. Without the need to gather wood, women regain a full day of their time each week. The water filters provide clean, safe drinking water to the families, preventing waterborne sicknesses.

Almost 900 million people live without access to safe, drinkable water. By installing smoke-free safety stoves and water filters, we can make immediate changes in families’ lives.
